Germany’s Commerzbank has said it expects this to be a difficult year.
That prediction came as it posted a worse-than-expected fourth-quarter loss of 1.86 billion euros from weak trading results.
Germany’s second-largest bank also had to put aside more money to cover loans not being repaid.
However the bank said its results would still improve significantly this year and it expected to return to profitability by 2011 at the latest.
