September 12 is strongly symbolic for Turkey, the date on which, 30 years ago, its military launched a coup d‘état. This September, coinciding with the anniversary date, the people will vote in a referendum on changing the constitution that came out of the coup. More than putting the leaders of the military overthrow on trial, Turkey could reshape its future.
