Serb support for Mladic

Bosnian Serbs gathered in the eastern town of Bijeljina on Thursday to voice their support for Ratko Mladic and their anger at Serbian President Boris Tadic.

Many of the protesters carried Serbian flags and photos of Mladic, who they regard as a war hero rather than criminal.

By contrast, the demonstrators regard Tadic as a traitor , holding him responsible for Mladic’s arrest and subsequent transfer to a UN war crimes tribunal at the Hague in the Netherlands.

Mladic will answer charges including the alleged orchestration of the killing in 1995 of around 8000 Bosnian men and boys in the town of Srebrenica.
