All Blacks draw first blood against France With France beating New Zealand in the quarter finals of the 1999 and 2007 world cups, this is always a match that the All Blacks approach with caution. But there were no such upsets for the home team today as they outclassed Les Bleus with a stunning 37 – 17 victory.
But this should not prove terminal for France as they should still make it to the quarter final and will then be in what most see as the easier half of the draw.
All went to plan for England too, who won with a comfortable margin of 67 – 3 against Romania.
They are now well on course for a place in the quarter Finals, and if Scotland beat Argentina the two British teams will both make the final eight, with the result of their match deciding the pool winner.
