Toyota upbeat for 2012 bounce-back

The Japanese car giant Toyota has a positive view of the year to come.

It has forecast a 20 per cent leap in global sales for 2012 to a record 8.5 million vehicles.

The rise is set against a difficult year for the group, whose factories were starved of vital deliveries because of the earthquake and tsunami.

The disruption will probably cost Toyota its crown as the world’s top selling car maker for this year.
