Celebrated Italian writer Guerra dies

One of Italy’s best-loved writers of recent decades has died at the age of 92.

Tonino Guerra wrote more than 100 screenplays.

He worked with several legendary filmmakers including his compatriot, Federico Fellini, on the screenplay for ‘Amacord’ which won an Oscar for best foreign film in 1975.

Guerra, who also wrote poetry, painted and produced sculptures, had been nominated for an Oscar on several occasions.
