The Peruvian government has appealed for more help to free nine miners trapped for several days in a copper mine after a rockfall.

Further collapses have caused delays; now more heavy equipment and experts are needed to prevent similar mishaps.

Rescuers have been able to communicate with the men and feed them liquids via a tube.
