A restaurant in Copenhagen has landed the title of the world’s best place to eat, for the third year in a row.

‘Noma’ is credited with putting Nordic cuisine firmly on the map.

“This whole generation of new chefs just gets a confidence boost. It’s just amazing to be part of that and this adds to the momentum that’s happening,” said Noma chef Rene Redzepi.

Elena Arzak was crowned ‘Best Female Chef’ at the awards in London, which recognise the finest 50 restaurants around the globe.

Her family restaurant in Spain also won the number eight spot in the rankings.

Two other Spanish eateries made the top ten, along with others from the US, UK, Italy and Brazil.
