Euro 2012: Poland

Co-hosts Poland will rely heavily on their trio of Borussia Dortmund players as they seek to make it out of group A.

The lowest-ranked nation in the tournament according to the latest FIFA rankings has been drawn with Russia, Greece and the Czech Republic.

The team, which under coach Smuda has a moderate record of 12 wins, 11 draws and eight losses, does have three big names who know each other very well as they play for the same club – Defender Lukasz Piszczek, midfielder Jakub Blaszczykowski and in-form striker Robert Lewandowski whose goals have helped Borussia Dortmund retain the Bundesliga title.

Poland made a dreadful start in 2008 and are seeking a revival of fortunes nearly 30 years after finishing third, for the second time, at the 1982 World Cup finals.
