Launderette prank goes wrong

Security cameras in New Jersey caught the moment a toddler got taken for a spin.

One-year-old Saimeir David was with his babysitter at a launderette when the babysitter’s male companion shut him in a machine for a joke.

To their horror the machine then locked and started an automatic cycle. The man frantically pulled at the door to no avail before running to get help from a member of staff who arrived and pulled the plug.

The boy was then freed and emerged a little shaken but otherwise unharmed. The child’s mother says the babysitter did not tell her about the incident, and she only found out when police and county investigators arrived at her home, and showed her the tape.

It is reported that no criminal charges will be filed, although the case is under review by the state’s Division of Youth and Family services.
