The first private spacecraft to visit the International Space Station splashed down in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of California on Thursday.
The Space X company’s unmanned Dragon capsule launched on a Falcon rocket nine days ago.
It was carrying half a tonne of food and supplies for the astronauts on board the ISS.
If the capsule is successfully recovered, it will trigger a 1.3-billion-euro contract with US space agency NASA for 12 more trips.
NASA has been subject to budget cuts in recent years and wants to save costs by outsourcing such missions to the private sector.
