Jeden, dwa… Polish is England’s second language Rescue services have been airlifting holidaymakers to safety after floods hit several camp sites in Wales.
Monsoon-scale rains and high winds have battered the Aberystwyth region for days. The Royal Air Force, the Fire Brigade and other emergency services have been working together, rescuing at least 150 people so far.
Currents were so strong in one caravan park an emergency lifeboat was swept away and its crew found itself in need of help. Elsewhere, homes have been evacuated and public buildings turned into makeshift shelters.
It is not just Wales; vast swathes of England have also been hit and the unsettled conditions are forecast to last for another week.
