Ousted Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak has been declared ‘clinically dead’ by his doctors, according to Egyptian media.

However, two security sources have denied this, telling Reuters news agency that Mubarak is only unconscious and on a respirator.

The former leader is said to have suffered a stroke in prison before falling into a coma. He was taken to a military hospital.

Mubarak was recently sentenced to life imprisonment by an Egyptian court for failing to prevent the killing of protesters in last years’ revolution.
