Commuters in Italy are facing major delays and disruptions after a walk-out by public transport workers.
Buses, trams and several cities’ underground networks came to a halt during the morning rush hour.
The action is part of a series of strikes against the Italian government’s tough austerity measures. Officials insist deep public sector cuts will not affect the quality of services.
