The authorities in Colombia have arrested a man they say was one of the kidnappers of Ingrid Betancourt.

The French-Colombian politician was held in the jungle by leftist rebels for nearly six years until 2008.

Prosecutors say Marco Patino, who was picked up in the south of the country, spent three decades with the FARC and was a leading commander.
