Italian embassy kidnap victim alive

Yemini authorities have confirmed that an Italian man abducted on Sunday is being held by tribesmen.

They said the embassy security guard is being held in the oil-producing region of Maarib.

A tribal source said the kidnappers are demanding compensation for the arrest of a relative and return of land they say they own in the capital Sanaa.
