Syria Liberation Army describes latest from Aleppo

Adbel Jabbal al Akidi from the Syria Liberation Army told euronews what was happening on the ground in Aleppo following an escalation of violence.

Syria’s second city and main commercial hub has been the scene of nearly two weeks of intense fighting between rebels and forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad.

“The city has suffered a heavy bombardment from the criminal regime; its air force used MiG23 fighter jets. Assad’s tanks have also heavily shelled several areas. Today we continued our attacks on key security buildings,” said al Akidi.

“Fighting also took place around the air force headquarters and the military court located west of Al-Zahraa. Those buildings were attacked by the Free Syrian Army. They now control about 40-50 percent of districts in Aleppo. We are in command in several other districts. Our forces continue their battles with Assad’s army.”
