Multi-millionaire Hans Kristian Rausing has been given a 10-month suspended prison sentence, after pleading guilty to a charge of preventing the “lawful and decent burial” of his wife.

The court heard Eva Rausing’s body rotted for over two months, before being found at the couple’s home in an upmarket area of London.

Police made the grim discovery in July after stopping Hans Kristian for driving erratically and arresting him on suspicion of driving under the influence of drink or drugs.

On Wednesday, he admitted a charge of driving while unfit through drugs and was given a two-month suspended prison term to run concurrently with his other sentence.

The couple had struggled with drug addiction for several years.
