Gay Pride passes off peacefully in Jerusalem

Thousands of people have marched through central Jerusalem for the city’s 10th annual Gay Pride event.

There has been violence in the past – an ultra-Orthodox man attacked three demonstrators with a knife in 2005 – but there were no clashes this year.

Despite gay rights in Israel, Jerusalem is traditionally a conservative city.
