I am annoyed that people who are not in the eurozone have a say and voting rights on euro affairs.
Only those who have taken on the full european community commitments, such as changing currency to the euro should have the right to participate in any discussions and subsequent votes affecting full euro citizens. Are you in or out? There is i will participate a bit here and there. Make up your minds and stay or go.
On another topic the european agenda covers but does not seem to – what is happening with regards to the environmental commitments. I note that fines are issued with alarming regularity and severity but no practical directives seem to endeavour to change anything except the coffers of the eu.
Why have ALL public buildings been issued with directives to go solar, have windmills or other forms of practicable energy saving measures suitable to those regions? What happened to the research on air fresheners? Why are some deodorants listed as containing mercury – an obvious substance to ban that causes immense damage to health and the environment? Why are aerosol sprays still used at all when pump action sprays are safer and are easy to use? Why are doctors (quite rightly) reminded to limit use of antibiotics to the necessary and not precautionary when farmers seem to have unlimited access and use them routinely and in large quantities on animals?
Why are there no directives on public transport such as services crossing over boundaries and virtually empty vehicles continuously driving about?
Why is there no parity for all citizens? An excess of vehicles within the towns and cities is simply stupidity and waste whilst country people have virtually nothing, or, in most cases nothing at all and are all but stranded – especially the non-drivers, disabled, elderly and/or alone? A service should be obligatory so they may visit doctors, dentists, opticians, library, shops and even SOCIALISE in some chosen form which should be available for (if nothing else) mental health – lonely citizens do not thrive.
Why are there people without bathrooms and unable to pay for extensions and work done?
I note there is time for all to argue about salary increases and/or expenses but I would suggest that leaving the less able to fade away alone and forgotten does not bring anything redolent of ‘community’ to mind. Perhaps there could be job creation to drive around and clear the bodies of the dead and unwanted – perhaps a little clear planning could prevent these tragedies and allow people some happiness and dignity in their remaining years.

The current article on the 20th anniversary of euronews states “like Brussels, London, Doha, Cairo, Paris, Moscow, Kiev, and Washington.” But, which cities are “like” those mentioned? Maybe Milan? Lyon? “Riyadh? Perhaps it is better to use “such as” instead of “like.”

HAPPY CHRISTMAS euronews -COMMENTS ON SOME
    ISSUES THAT INTERESTED ME.
Happy Christmas to all who work at euronews-English Service,as well as other staff
who work in other languages services.
Christmas comes but once a year-on this occasion, and still celebrating it I’d like to
sincerely comment on a few important issues.
    Libya-Tripoli,the 24th of December.
This is the second time the country celebrated its independence since the ousting
of the ex-regime last year. The 61st anniversary was not quite festive in Tripoli, with
one jet-fighter flying over and some helicopters, but you seemed not interested in
covering such an important event. This country needs extensive coverage from time
    to time.
Her Majesty’s Queen Elizabeth I I ‘s Christmas annual address was one which ought
to be covered-this too was not covered. Her Majesty, was and will continue to be an
extraordinary person within, and outside the British Commonwealth. Her address was not limited to subjects of the Commonwealth.
We sincerely want all senators and representatives in the U.S Congress to overcome the so-called, the fiscal cliff, and avoid recession. You truly covered American affairs in a sincere way.
    Thank you very much euronews.

The article on India rape case is incorrect. According to indian media, the bus was empty and there is no mention of video. The article seems to combine information from an earlier incident in India.

The Palestinian people at last have more support from the Arab countries with the disbursement of USD 100 million per month and further investments into Gaza so that the people there can start to get out of their misery due to the blockade imposed by Israel.

The opening of the Rafah crossing in Egypt permanently due to Mohammed Mursi decision and the support they are getting from the Muslim Brotherhood it makes the long suffering of the Gaza people somehow alleviated, they have been living on the stone age for quite a long time in spite of efforts from some countries in Europe, Arabs and others to try and make their pledge for freedom possible.

After the last exchange of rockets, missiles and massive destruction lets hope that the peace prevails between the democratically elected Hamas movement and Israel and in spite of the undermining of the peace process by the building of new homes in Palestinian lands, it may still there be a possibility that one day they can live together side by side in harmony, that is if the outside influences in the ongoing Arab spring being influenced by more radical fundamentalist elements in the neighboring countries.

Please will you tell your sport reporters that when giving out timings and lengths, for ski jumps for example, that after a decimal point it is wrong to use words like twenty, fifty etc.
. E.g. 34.36 metres ishould be spoken as thirty four point three six, not …point thirty six. Thirty is only used for multiples of ten in the whole numbers part of a number, not in the tenths column after the decimal point. This is basic maths that primary school teachers teach all the time. We don’t expect television reporters to get it wrong, setting a bad example to our students.
    Thank you.

Please provide more news from the Philippines, China, and southeast Asia. CCTV News provides the most southeast Asian news coverage but we would like to see the euronews perspective on issues in the area. Thank you.

Re-reading your letter of 10.10.12. PetruYanish reminds me that you do not see things as they really are. The problem this creates in reading your statements is that they cannot be taken seriously!

Spain Catalonia autonomous Region is breaking the law by insinuating that they want to break away from Spain or basically declaring secession and separation from the Spanish territory, that is against what is established in the Constitution and the Spanish Government has all the right to use all means to ensure that the separatists do not act unilaterally breaking the law.

Until now they have been the most privileged autonomous Region getting major investments allocated from the central government, now they even want to declare their Catalan dialect as the main language in Catalonia which again, it goes against the Spanish Constitution.
