Hamas knew what would come if they continued to attack their northern neighbour. Why do they wish so much suffering on Palestinian women and children. No doubt they will be running away before the expected Israeli ground forces arrive leaving the ordinary people of Gaza to take the consequences of their action.

I must agree with Franpinoni in the amount of coverage of US elections and politics in general. I have to say that this is not unique to euronews, but its practically a decease throughout European journalists! The BBC is the same and I’ve noticed that newspapers are not far behind. I’ve no objection to hearing as much as we do from any other country, but journalists seem to think that ‘joe public’ is really interested in the finer details of American politics and I would question this. To quote the American’s own expression -give us a break!

Although I am originally from the USA, I find your coverage of the election results annoying. Certainly, other hings are happening at the moment. It’s fine to have bulletins, but if we need ad nauseum coverage we can go to CNN or one of those other news channels that I haven’t watched since I discovered euronews and your 5 minutes of headlines.
Please put back your regular excellent programing! ASAP! – It’s morning in Europe…

In observing recent news it is clear that china’s aristocracy is proving to be very capable of controlling its populace while at the same time amassing a vast fortune for itself. Dissent is not tolerated, such people being either deported, jailed or eliminated

Let’s concentrate on the good news from Gaza. What a wonderful picture you show of the Egyptian circus in Gaza. The child in your picture could be anybody’s son or grandson. His future will only be secure when his seniors come to peaceful terms with their neighbours. I wish, for all our sakes, that they would try. It is an immutable law that action and reaction are equal and opposite.

So over 60 rockets have been fired from Gaza into civilian areas within the past 14 hours, 3 foreign workers have been severely injured; a man lost his arm while on routine patrol and schools have been closed throughout an entire region. That’s not considered news yet the response to these attacks receives an out of context piece? I’ve received more informative reporting from Facebook than this news service.

In reaction to Petru Yanish: does he not agree that women in Islamic societies are at least treated very differently to women in others. Why does he think that religion should not be discussed by rational people in a rational manner? Will he please explain to us where his God exists. If there were no God, what perhaps were the real experiences of Jesus of Nazareth and Mohamed in their lifetimes as compared to the stories which were made up about them by later generations of writers. Policemen raping a woman is a scandal in any society of course.

Doctors, lawyers and journalists strike in Greece. In doing so they hurt their employers and the public they serve. If they think they deserve better why do they not go into self employment. If they did they would probably find that their conditions in employment had been very advantageous to them. These strikers do not live in the real world but in some hypothetical one of their own creation. A country can only afford certain levels of reward for its people. If the people are too greedy for their level of productivity the country will become bankrupt as is the case in Greece. A new stance is absolutely vital for that country.

I wish to express to you my concern about the headline over the article in which Alex Salmond, First Minister of Scotland, gives his views of independence. The headline calls him a “separatist”. As a member of the Scottish National Party, and an elected member of a local authority in Scotland, I have to tell you that my party is not “separatist”, rather we are internationalist. We have no intention of turning in on ourselves after Scotland regains her independence. We want to make the best decisions for the governance of our country and to fully participate in the world. So please do not describe us in this way again. Thank you.

Dear viewer,
If we were to use the term ‘internationalist’ to describe the campaign for independence in Scotland it would leave the vast majority of our viewers unclear as to what the movement is about. ‘Separatist’ is, by any dictionary definition, the more accurate term. After all, the party is called the The Scottish National Party, not the Scottish International Party. Head of English Service
